Tom and Tori had been dreaming about this business for years. They’d finally found the right property: two acres along a creek, views of Mt. Rainier, a working horse stable, trails out the back door. The dream became real enough to act on. They needed someone to help them build it.
who they are
Mirador Retreats is a private retreat space in Issaquah, Washington that brings professional counseling and consulting services into a nature-rich setting. Just 25 minutes from Seattle but worlds away in feel, Mirador offers a genuine alternative to the clinical office environment most people associate with therapy and coaching.
Tori is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who leads the counseling practice, offering individual, couples, and family counseling in the form of Counseling Retreats, sessions held indoors, outdoors, or creekside. Tom provides leadership consulting and executive coaching for nonprofit leaders, pastors, executives, and organizational teams. Together they also offer Personalized Intensives and Leadership Team Offsites for groups of four to fifteen. The tagline captures it simply: Reflect. Envision. Engage.
where they started
Tori already had an established counseling practice. The move to Mirador wasn't about starting from scratch. It was about reimagining what the practice could be in a setting that matched the kind of healing she believed in. She and Tom had a clear vision. What they needed was a brand that could communicate it, a digital presence that could reach the right people, and a partner who understood what they were trying to build.
The connection to RM was personal. Tom and Tori are longtime friends, and Kristi had supported Tori with digital presence work in an earlier business. When the property finally came together, it was time to make it official.
what we did together
We started with brand strategy, working through Mirador's purpose, audience, service definitions, and messaging. Getting clear on how to talk about counseling retreats as distinct from conventional therapy sessions was important work. The natural setting, the equine therapy options, the accessibility from Seattle, all of it needed to come through in how Mirador showed up in the world.
From there we built the brand identity in partnership with our design collaborator, created the website, and established a full digital presence including Google Business Profile setup and business documentation. We've provided ongoing marketing and business consulting since launch, adapting as Tom and Tori have clarified which services to prioritize, planned and promoted events, and added new offerings over time.
In 2025 we launched a quarterly email newsletter, which has become a meaningful new channel. We're now developing a content funnel to support in-person workshops, with options for digital content and online courses in the mix too.
what changed
The numbers from 2026 tell a clear story: nearly 20% growth in web traffic, referral visits more than doubling thanks to new listings on Psychology Today and miradorleaders.com, and Google reviews that doubled in just three months. Organic search has become their strongest channel, and AI-referred traffic, though still emerging, is already converting.
More than the metrics, Mirador now has a brand, a digital home, and a marketing presence that reflects the quality and intentionality of what Tom and Tori have built on that property.

We've stayed engaged through different seasons as Mirador's priorities have shifted. What's consistent is the trust. Tom and Tori are wonderful people doing meaningful work, and it's a privilege to be part of it.
